Rooted In Family, Raised with Care - One Beautiful Mess at a Time

Herd & Flock

Our Commitment to Happy, Healthy Animals

Raising livestock is at the heart of our farm—and it’s something we take great pride in. From chickens to Kinder goats, pigs to beef cattle, each member of our herd and flock plays an important role in supporting our family and serving our customers.

We’re committed to raising animals with respect, care, and transparency. Our livestock are thoughtfully selected for quality genetics, raised in environments that allow them to thrive, and managed with practices that support both their well-being and the land they live on.

Whether you’re here for eggs and meat, handmade goat milk products, or to add animals to your own homestead, we’re glad you’re interested in learning more. Scroll down to meet the animals that make Oops-A-Daisy Farm what it is.

Chickens

Our mixed flock of laying hens provides a beautiful variety of colorful, farm-fresh eggs. Our roosters are Bielefelders, known for their calm temperament and excellent dual-purpose qualities. Our hens include Bielefelders, Olive Eggers, Buff Orpingtons, Speckled Sussex, and several color varieties of Rocks—each adding their own charm to the flock.

We collect eggs daily for both our family and our customers. In the spring, we gather fertilized hatching eggs, which we either incubate here on the farm or offer for sale. We hatch chicks both for our growing flock and for others who want to raise healthy, well-started birds of their own.

During the summer months, we also raise pastured meat chickens. These birds live in a mobile chicken tractor, which we move to fresh pasture each day to ensure they have constant access to clean grass, bugs, and sunshine. It’s a system that results in healthy birds and flavorful, responsibly raised meat.

Kinder Goats

Our Kinder goats are a hardworking, mid-sized dual-purpose breed raised for both milk and meat. Kinders are known for their friendly personalities, efficient feed conversion, and excellent milk production—all qualities that make them ideal for small farms and homesteads.

We milk our does daily, and their rich, high-butterfat milk is a staple in our home. It’s used for drinking, cheesemaking, and yogurt, as well as in the handcrafted goat milk soaps and lotions we create for our customers.

In addition to providing for our own family, we’re proud to offer registered Kinder goats as quality breeding stock for others looking to grow their own herds. Whether you’re new to Kinders or looking to expand an existing herd, we’re happy to help you find the right fit.

Berkshire Hogs

We keep a small herd of commercial Berkshire sows, chosen for their strong maternal instincts and consistent litters. These sows raise healthy, fast-growing piglets that go on to produce pork with rich flavor and excellent marbling.

We breed via artificial insemination (A.I.) to bring in top-quality sire genetics, planning for litters in early spring and late summer. When it’s time to farrow, our sows do so in spacious pens equipped with roll bars and a creep area to keep piglets safe. This setup allows sows to build their own nests and express natural mothering behaviors.

Our pigs enjoy access to pasture, where they can root, forage, and explore. We believe that animals raised with care and respect produce better meat, and our customers agree.

Most of our piglets are offered as feeders, but we also provide custom feeding on request and sell finished hogs by the whole or half. However you choose to enjoy it, we’re proud to offer pork that’s been raised with integrity from start to finish.

Beef Cattle

Our beef herd began with high-quality cattle shown through our daughter’s 4-H project—registered stock from respected breed associations. Today, our farm is home to Hereford, Shorthorn, and Red Angus cattle, known for their excellent beef quality, calm dispositions, and strong genetics. We’re committed to maintaining and building on that foundation as our herd grows.

Our cattle are pasture-raised, with plenty of space to graze and grow naturally. When the time comes, they are grain-finished to ensure tender, flavorful beef with the marbling our customers expect and appreciate.

While our beef program is still developing, we plan to follow the same model we use for our pork: custom feeding, and offering beef by the whole or half animal. As the herd expands, we look forward to providing our customers with flavorful, farm-raised beef raised with care and integrity.
